Diesel is the only way to go for trucks if you ask me.The only bad thing about diesels is the cold starting. But if they are plugged in they usually are fine.

There is to a pluge in the 06s every Dmax has one from the factory but they can be hard to find. It should be mounted to the passenger side fender well. Not that he needs it really Dmaxs start good in the cold and the 06 and newer do really good I'm talk'en -20s+.

That price seem high for my area at least. 01-04s have some injector problem and have a special warranty on them for 200K, but the problems are less frequent on the 03. And even more so on the 04 no problems on the 04.5 since those are LLY not LB7s. The problem seen to be more truck specific since some have trouble and some don't. Have some one run the VIN at the dealer to pull up the service history and see if the truck has had any chronic problems. Do get to turned off to fast if it has had injector problems early on some techs/"parts changers" where changing injectors that where not the problem.
