snap on mac and matco are all good tools but over priced. craftsman, sk, k tools and stanely tools are all good but nowhere the price. but going with what i like, i prefer matco tools and ingresoll rand for air tools. i have over 14000 in tools and i have some of them all. it just depends on how much you are willing to pay.

Well the instructor told me any where from $2,500-4,000.I like S-K brand sockets and Craftsman wrenches. That is what we use on our farm and I like them. But I'd be an idiot if I passed on Snap On for the same price as Craftsman. But We shall see Tuesday when all of the tool companies are there.I'll let you know what I got when I get them.:U:

i bought my s-k sockets through my snap-on dealer, he was 400 less than the sts guy wanted for them. and sts is a cheaper destributor supposedly

ya if you can get snap on tools at a good price id go with them which most dealers give college kids a break so id look at them for things like sockets, wrenches stuff like that just dont get caught up and think yuo need to get everything snap on it will cost you a small fortune. like big ed said you better get ready to spend a lot of money so might as well save every chance yuo get!! the main thing with your tools make sure it saysmade in:usa: not china, taiwan, or any other foreign country. i bought some cheap wrenches one time from harbor freight because in my line of work tools disappear very quickly, :bat:so i went and got some i wouldnt be out a lot of money if some piece of trash yanked them.:ouch: well i went to use some and the first time i torqued down on a 5/8 nut it went SNAP wrench falls to ground i smash my fist into a column BAD words start coming out not a good situation. got a little carried away with this one but thats just my reasoning for not buying chinese tools.

harbor frieght is a cheap place to buy tools if you dont do anything involveing to much stainon the tools. if your doing it for a living then i would buy the things that are a little higher, because you get what you pay for.

hell ya the tool box in my garage only holds craftsman and snap on tools. . but on big construction sites were i work there are a lot of worthless thieves:bat::ph: and id rather them run off with cheap tools as opposed to expensive ones because no matter how careful yuo are with your stuff the very second you let your gaurd down someone will be owning your schit.. i know there are certain things you cant buy cheap but the things i can i do. lol lifetime warranty is only good if you still have the tools.

Well that is why nobody messes with my stuff or my CAT boots go kicking someones A**.But the college requires a locking droored toolbox.I like the Craftsman and Snap On toolchests and top chests.

I have Mac tools adn its only because i grew up with the distributors son so i got a steal on them. My set which came with locking and rolling tool chest and a full set of GM tools cost me $12,500. And yea i pretty much raped him, all that would cost anyone else between $28,000- $33,000. I had one dip shit at work try to steal one of my larger sockets and i caught him and at the time i didnt do anything except make him give it back but as i was leaving i saw his truck sittin there and it was just asking for it. Seeing that he had and aftermarket exhaust on his truck with a six inch tip that one of my friends wanted, not to mention that it had one tach weld hold it on i walked over to itadn just ripped it off and took it home with me and gave it to one of my buddies. Yea that a hole hasnt messed with me since.
