keep in mind that these trucks from 89-02 came with two different types of alternators, one made by denso and the much more expensive one made by bosch. The densos were put on more often then the bosches and to interchange them, you have to either modify your connectors(the ones that connect to the back of the alternator itself) or get a new one. I know this from experience. good luck trying to find a new bosch one for less then 300, rebuilt ones run about 175 plus core at most auto parts dealers
