Default There is some seriously shady stuff going on here.

I received word about Midwest Diesel Trucks, through an individual close to me. It was brought to my attention, that this person felt they got a good deal by purchasing from MDT. I was in the market for a truck, scanned their website for vehicles, and came across a 2006 Ford F350 with the 6 litre diesel. It appeared in good shape, and after talking with Tim at MDT several times, he informed me that this truck passed all their inspections, had no faults or codes that would prohibit it from passing emissions, and said it was a good runner that pulled hard. I didn't have time or the patience, to rent a car, pay tolls, and screw around in Illinois, so I was taking Tim's word on this, and also an individual who felt they received a decent deal at that time, as my leverage to go ahead with the deal. I needed a reliable vehicle as I just sold back my Dodge Ram truck to a dealership, because of a faulty transmission. I wired the money to the MDT, paid extra to have it shipped to me, and a couple days later it arrived. Jumping into the drivers seat, turning the key to start the truck, I waited for the glow plug light to turn off, fired it up, which it started hard, and a TPC failure light came on. It went away after hitting the reset button, and the truck seemed to drive and ride OK. One week later, an engine light comes on, I take it to a shop, they hook it up onto a diagnostic machine, and the readout is as follows. A brake light code and an egr code. The shop checked the brake lights and they were working fine, and I was advised there was an egr delete done to the engine prior to purchasing, but Tim said it did not set off any codes! What did they do to get the codes to disappear for a week, just to get it out the door? Oh, and I noticed that the interior of my truck, is not the same as the pictures MDT put online. I believe that's called false advertisement! I want so bad to report these guys to the Better Business Bureau, but what will they do?....Nothing. I bought this terd heap as is, and am stuck with it. The best thing to do is to get the word out, how bad this company is.

I hate like hell to say tis, but I told ya' so!!!

But why in the HELL did you buy a 6.0 Ford? If you paid over $4500 for that thing you REALLY got screwed. Personally I wouldn't have one if it was free!

About 4 years ago I drove from Northern Illinois to Houston to buy a 2004 Ford to resell, after seeing them going from $15,000-$16,000 on Ebay.

I bought the truck for $11,300, put a set of front hubs and bearings on it and was IN the truck $14,500 with my trip. That turd wouldn't bring $6500 on Ebay!! I finally traded it here for a bad *** custom chopper, then sold the chopper 3 months later and lost $500 on the whole deal.

NEVER would I look at another 6.0 Ford. N-E-V-E-R.

Now as for your deal. Here's the law - If you buy something from someone (dealer or not) it's pretty much an "as-is" sale, UNLESS they gave you a warranty in writing, OR you can show a court that they misrepresented the sale, by failing to disclose something that would have prevented you from making the purchase.

The best part about your deal, is that you can file suit against them in YOUR state, because you consummated this deal via the Internet and at NO time stepped foot on their lot!!!! Accordingly, your county court has jurisdiction in this case! And trust me that's exactly where you want to file it, because (if it's a small claims suit) Illinois Small Claims laws suck. In this state the Plaintiff and Defendant can have a lawyer. In most other states lawyers are prohibited from practicing in Small Claims! And I think out limit in SC is only $12,000 and if that's not right I'm really close.

You have 2 ways to go, and I am assuming that you paid more for the truck than your Small Claims court will allow?

1. File a civil suit against them for the total amount of the purchase, plus the associated costs of getting the truck delivered, etc...............which will require a lawyer, etc,., etc.
2. Take the truck to a qualified diesel shop, or a Ford dealer (preferred) and get an estimate to repair the truck TO THE LEVEL OF QUALITY THAT MIDWEST DIESEL REPRESENTED THAT IT WAS IN, IN THEIR ONLINE ADVERTISEMENT, THAT YOU RELIED UPON. File a Small Claims case against them in YOUR court, demanding that they pay you the amount of that estimate, PLUS court costs, filing fees and service fees.

Once you have them served they will have to come to YOUR court to fight the case, and, according to YOUR state's Small Claims laws I'm pretty sure that they won't be able to have a lawyer with them!

GET BUSY. ACT ON THIS NOW.

If you're looking for a Diesel truck I just got back from Texas with a 2004 Chevy dually crew cab 4x4 that I'm selling. It needs tires and a few minor trinkets to make it nice. If anyone wants this truck they can have it for $8875.
