If u can aford a 25 thousand dallor truck u shouldn't be runnin on E. And vgt turbos are great. Good on turbo lag and amazing sound. The only problem they had were was dirty dirty diesel+tuner= lots and lots of carbon. Which would lock up the fins in the turbo. U actlike cus a truck has a few defects its f'd. Id love to see this flawless diesel of urs cus they all have pros and cons

If you get a 6.0, do EGR delete, studs, and upgraded oil cooler and you've got a dang good truck. Even with just an EGR delete it should be fine at stock power levels and with a small tune.

the biggest thing is that you shouldnt 'have' to upgrade it like that...... it was a rush job of an engine, and it backfired on ford and navistar

im sure its an ok engine, I just wouldnt buy one

thats just like saying you shouldnt "have" to do the KDP on the 12v, you shouldnt "have" to upgrade the lift pump on a 24v, shouldnt "have" to replace the injectors on an LB7, shouldnt "have" to fix overheating problems on an LLY.... you see where Im going.

Im not saying its not a piece of crap engine in stock form, but with some work (expensive and possibly not worth it, yes) it can be a good engine.

If the 6.0 would get some mileage pulling it wouldn't end up on E so fast

Fords VGT on the 6.0 was a disaster a high percentage faile at 60,000 miles. The turbo on my 05 6.0 is starting to stick. Every one I know that has a 6.0 has replaced there turbo.

6.0 turbo has a terrilbe long lag, really worst in the industry by far!!

I have to admit the 6.0 turbo does sound the best.

Any motor can have a bug or 2 but that bug shouldn't set you back a couple of grand.

I don't really think that the 6.0 is really that bad, but apparently there's a lot of people that do, there is a class action lawsuit being brought against Ford and Navistar stating that the pickups powered by the 6.0 are un-merchantable and un-useable due to the large amount of problems, so to anyone that says it's a good engine, i think they're just in denial of the truth, granted, with proper mods they'll be ok, but none other has the problems in stock form that the 6.0 does

Im not saying that its not an good engine when you spend a bunch of money on it.... but it really can be a money trap for someone who's not prepared to drop the dollars to make it what it SHOULD have been

Ok apparently I didn't explain myself. Stock 6.0 chit. Head studded egr delete. Great truck. And as far as that vgt destruction thing, like I said the main cause any of them failed was due to the poor poor diesel fuel. If u disagree Idk what to tell u. And ur crazy if u don't think the 6.0 sounds great. And along with that a replacement turbo isnt that costly when u know how to put one on. I think it was like 1350 foe a new one. In the diesel world that's nothing. The 6.0 will always have a bad name but I bought this 2005 f250 kr 140k egr delete studded for 20,500 and this thing is perfect to all the haters please tell me why this truck runs perfect. The turbo doesn't stick
