You like Fords? OBS or SD? If you're serious about $20k... the thought of dropping 15k in mods on an OBS puts a big ole smile on my face. You'd have the fastest coolest truck around that would cost you pocket change to tax and insure.

you need to look for a clean 2007 5.9 cummins 3500!!! you get alot of power stock but if your looking for more.... get a smarty but you will also need a clutch becuase with the power from the smart s-06 your clutch will slip ALOT so get a southbend clutch and you done!!!!

Doesnt sound like a bad deal, checked out the blue book value, seems to be a good bit below it. Also a huge plus it has the deletes and studs already.

I have to disagree, granted its not a FORD frame, but the my 2500HD handles alot and i havent had any major problems. My wife uses it to haul her 3 horse trailer and it pulls it like it isnt even there. Ive also hauled a 30 ft bumper pull camper for my folks with out any problems.
How can you say the 4.5 Dmax is the best eng /trans combo when that is the combo that will leave you sitting on the side of the road with the hood up on a hot summer day from a over heating engine. And they will do it stock!! And if you only pull 3 horses no wonder your happy how it handeled. Try 14 horses or 16 cows or pull a gross 42,000 That is when you learn the truth about trucks.
You just said you think Fords frame is better then chevys. Go to cheys site where they test the frame on the Ford compared to the 2011 chevy. Chevy just went to the fully boxed frame like dodge did back in 03. I bet the new chevy handels a load very good now.

Here is how I will rate the trucks
Dodge's biggest down fall is the automatic except for the 6 speed auto behind the 6.7
Dodges biggest advantage is it is cheaper to get big power compared to the Ford and chevy
Chevys biggest down fall is there frame and front end. If your going to modify your truck I laugh every time I see it but spend a few hundred bucks so you don't break a tie rod.
Chevys biggest advantage I think is the allison and a nice interior
Fordbiggest dowfall is the motor. 7.3 doesn't have much power but it runs. 6.0 won't run for long. 6.4 likes its fuel. Who knows about the 6.7
Fords biggest advantage is loyal buyers who will buy it no matter what.

1: I agree about the LLY, now say 06+ and I would partially agree with him.

2: Hopefully you meant 24,000lbs because at 42,000lbs you've far exceeded the limit for any 1ton truck and are a danger to other motorists

No misprint 42K licenced by the state Been inspected and weighed by DOT at rest stop at 39,500 I usually am in the 36 range.

But like i said when you pull as hard as I do you learn what holds up.

Im sorry I don't mean to call out retardation but the 6.0 has had a chitty rep for to long. Ok there are 3 things wrong with the 6.0. That keep it from being "bulletproof" the egr with which is just a pain in the *** but no big blow to the budget unless u f up something urself doing it. The main problem is it has 4 flexbolts (per celinder) why do they break? Cus heating up and cooling they bend and become brittle. And break. Which is a b**** but once its done the truck is great! The part that u think makes them have short life is people who wait tell they blow there engine and let all that violent run threw the engine and never flush it is what it. The 6.0 is not a bad engine. The tranny is amazing and the truck itself is nice. Don't say chit unless u know what ur saying cus u just look like a dumb

Don't forget if you jell up or run out of fuel, or your fuel pump dies you will take out atleast 4 injectors. Don't forget about the turbo problems either. The 6.0 is not a good engine.
