what year of tow ratings for the 6.5 are you looking at. my truck which is a half ton and comes with the tallest gears availble is rated to tow 6000 pounds. if you get a dually with shorter gears you could pull 10k easy. might not go anywhere fast but thats what you get with an idi diesel

here's a link for all the specs on the cat i was towing http://www.brandsma.com/PDF%20Files/...er/773.ssl.pdf. the cat weighed 5808lbs plus the trailer. my cummins would have laughed at this load. heck one time I pulled a loaded semi up a nice hill on Hwy 16. just over I94 into beach ND with my 12v and it didnt even blink it was turned up some then but still the semi driver told me I could try and pull him but he didnt think i could move him....boy was he laughing when I dumped a bunch of smoke on him in 3rd gear in an auto LOL. he gave me a weight slip he was so suprised he was 77,280# it was awesome.

I have never really had a problem towing the weight. But I live in flat Indiana and when I tow my fork truck that weighs 12,500lb I am not interested in going fast. I looked up the 2010 crawler and without the back hoe it weighs 9,500#. But if I was going to haul heavy loads a lot I would buy a Cummins or a Duramax but most of the time its just me and the truck and I like how my 6.5 drives down the road.
It's always fun pulling semi's. We had a blizzard a few years back and had a loaded steel truck stuck in our shops drive I pulled him out with my 95. I doubt it was loaded to 77k lbs but it was still fun.
