Smoke is just wasted power, fuel, and egt's. You cant put a programmer on a mechanical engine like the 12v it's all mechanical stuff you do to it.

There's more to life then smoking, although it can be fun

For your budget, you're best going with a 2003.5+ Common Rail (also known as a 3rd Gen).

I would go with a c-rail for sure put a air dog on it for insurance. as far a smoke when you stand on the pedal at must all you want is a haze that you can barley see

Anything 24v and up will pretty much NEED an airdog
