:hi:

What's your budget?

R.P.M. 05-12-2010 09:01 PM

around 25,000... not a whole lot to spare with

2003+ Common rail. Plenty of power, lots of options, excellent mileage and lots of tunability. Get a clean common rail, do an intake/exhaust/tuner and bank the change.

thats my next Cummins to add to my garage :tu:

98.5 and older cummins are 12v. 98.5 and newer are 24V. well they both are good engines. I would not go with the 6.7L cummins. I would stay with the 5.9L They are a better engine. I think the 6.7L is 2007 and up...?? And if you want to pull i would go with the stick shift. Dodge autos are not very good. That is just my .02 cents.

12v's are terribly easy to mod and get great mileage. 24v's are electronic and more expensive to mod. Plus the 2k dollar lift pump goes out all the time on them. But they also get better mileage, better interiors and opening rear ext cab doors.

But I recommended a common rail which is 'technically' a 24v, but comes in 2003.5+

:nice: they are good engines. My budy has a 06 5.9L cummins. They are the best pickup dodge made. The engines are a lot more quite then the older ones.:tu: i do not like noise engines:td::ouch:

thanks for all the help... i do want to blow smoke once and awhile idk what adds you have to do.. i know ppl have said 12v smokes more if you "turn it up" cause of the p7100 pump or dump valve. but all that smoke gums up the motor ? idk this is why i joined this form to figure out stuff about diesels.. or do you just buy a programmer..
