Default Throttle Peddel /Shifting

New to Diesel preformance and glad to be here Bought my 96 2500 a couple of months ago and asked the members what mods i should do so i had the trany built and it still shifts the same so i need some help?

As i have read in many different threads the auto trans in a dodge cummins starts in 2nd? If so what can i do to make mine not shift in to 1st as soon as i take off it make a bang sound in the rear end some times it feels like it is going to fall out.

second question
once the truck goes in to lock up the throttle peddel becomes hard to depress why is this and is it normal ?
