Hmm. Maybe I did not use the online calculator correctly to convert them. Anyways I was looking at 2x2 that i believe it says its 11 guage and is 3.067 pounds per foot. Does this even sound right? Again I am not quite sure on how thick it should be, but once I see the stock in my hands I think I will be able to tell if it is thick enough. Let me know if I am going about this in the wrong direction.

Ok. Just got back from looking at some metal. 1/8 inch is way too thin. I saw some 1/4 inch and it looks like it will work great. It seemed very strong and sturdy. Now I just got to buy some stock and start welding.

If your going to build them and actualy use them as rock sliders I would build them out of 2" .120 wall square tube. You dont have to worry about it bending up stress and with the 2" its not to big that it turns into something that your actualy getting hung up on and causing more problems then you had before. Also If theres a chance your gonna slam them on rocks dont bolt them to the body mounts or the frame! weld them to the frame, other wise it will only be as reliable as the bolt that holds in on.

Mopar makes rock sliders for the Power Wagon. Theyll fit on any swb 3rd gen. They were $500 thru my dealer.

I looked at the Mopar rock sliders, but to me they don't seem too strong.

Rowdy- I am thinking about going with a design like that, I just want the sliders to be as strong as can be.

I'm still working things out to get everything in order to do this. Keep the good ideas comming guys!
