Default brake drum question-

im starting to tear into the first wheel station on my DODGEYMOG project , the first drum is in good shape but needs a seal kit,so they all will-my question:

i got the drum all cleaned with a rotary wire brush,i,d like to paint it with tough old HAMMERITE- good plan or bad plan?

this truck will be a mud truck so i want to be able to jet wash all the crud off,BUT will painting the drums hold in heat and lead to cracks in the future ?

I dont think the paint will have any effect on it.

thanks doc evil- i reckoned it would not hurt as these are pretty substantial truck drums-as discs dont work on heavy haulers used off highway-
