Yep, the same applies to the DMax. The factory intake flows better than any aftermarket unit and it was also found that the factory filter worked better at flow vs particle collection than almost all the aftermarket filters. Modding to a CAI does help with IAT though.

Especially if you change the passenger drivers side manifold, add a larger downpipe, and switch to at least a 4" exhaust.

Oops. You are correct sir. I must be driving in the UK.

If your hitting 1600* then somethings wrong. I would check your wastegate for normal operation and check you air filter.

i only hit it once when i was trying to inch my way through this mud hole while in 2wd. i just kept my foot down chugging along barely moving with my tires spinning at 100mph, but i had to let off cause my etg's climbed up to 1600* and i almost made it out and just put it in 4wd and drove out smoothly, but i didn't want to melt anything my friends said there was soo much black smoke, i had my programmer turned up. right now my air filter is brown from the mud but im going to clean that as soon as i replace my tie rod later on today.

I always liked having a prefilter, peace of mind and easy to clean the big stuff off.
