Air Intakes For The LMM

In the past I have had CAI on my trucks, with the advancement of the OEM filters is it still worth it to buy an after market CAI system?

No.

McRat just played with this on a Dyno last week. Pulled the air filter off and lost 8 rwhp did some tuning an gained 3 rwhp over stock. So any aftermarket intake is going to take some of that away. So not worth the money imo.

:( i wish i had a dyno to play with.

losing about 5 hp not a big deal for me, i like that sound of my turbo screaming out the aftermarket intake alot better than it being hidden by the stock intake.

Which is fine. As long as you are not spending the money to gain HP :U:

One time I took a 2000 Cummins 5spd to the Dyno and when I completely removed the intake filter it lost power :argh: This was tried on several different runs with the same outcome.
