Default Any Opinions???

Has anybody here ever wrapped their exhaust with header wrap?
I was looking to lower the temps "Around the engine compartment, as well as trying to see if you can get any gains as far as either spooling quicker, etc...

I just wanted some opinions about it???
Thanks!!!!

yep, you will definitely see some gains as in reduction in EGT's but your're not going to see a performance gain that you'll feel in the SOTPM.

Thats cool, I just want to try to lower the temps everywhere that I can! For obvious reasons...
Thanks for the reply!

It actually increases the temp in your pipe. Thats what causes the accelerated savaging affect. If you're doing this to try and lower the temps under the hood you wont see any drop.

I am not too worried about increases AFTER the turbo, I am looking to wrap the down pipe after the turbo..I think the increase in scavenging would help the EGT's, as well as reduce the back-pressure? Maybe, but also allow for faster spool-ups?

Yes on all accounts but you're still not getting the maximum benefit unless you wrap the manifolds and piping to the turbo..

Ok, so I also need to wrap the tubes going from the turbo to the intercooler, and then from the intercooler to the turbo, correct?

If your running a factory Downpipe and Charger the pipe should be wrapped already with a more than adequate wrap. They make covers for the charger that may help some , but between the hassle and busted knuckles, I cant say you would see any advantage to it!

Charger? Intake? If that is what you mean, then no sir, it is a K&N with metal tube, and an almost open box and I am also trying to close up the outside of it too. it has too much access to the engine bay heat. I also want to acces the flow of air from the of the truck when rollin'
