Default GM working with national lab to solve diesel emissions issue

Back when diesel emissions standards changed in 2007, manufacturers installed diesel particulate filters (DPF) that helped capture soot and other contaminants from being expelled. However, these filters become clogged and when that happens the heavy duty trucks can use over an additional half gallon of fuel to raise exhaust temperatures to over 1,000F basically incinerating [...]
