When Ford came out with the first 6.9 I guess they're right, history is doomed to repeat itself...

A Cummins powered Ford would sure give the Dodge boys a run for their money. Except we all know the Ford would still be 1800lbs heavier than the Dodge so it would still be slower

You can laugh but if you would think it is because of the 6.9 then 7.3 that Dodge looked for a diesel option. Then with dodge haveing a superior engine along came the 7.3 powerstroke. Do you think the Duramax would have been built if not for the 5.9 cummins and 7.3 powerstroke?

You can get Cummins special Ordered from the factory in a Ford. Then they become standard option in the 650 and up. Ford is a Heavier truck but has more pulling capacity and is a much better ride better body and interior IMO.

The only reason I bought a dodge is because of the Cummins. I'm a I6 fan if Cummins would have Came Standard option I would bought Fords from the Beginning I have had Fords a 99 F350 with a 7.3 I wanted to do a Transplant before it got totalled. So I bought Another Dodge. I don't care if it's a Ford Design Cummins Cat or a International as long as it's 6 in a row.

OK guys, I don't want to start a war, I think the best engine is a cummins,BUT My reasons for buying my truck was, I got a better deal from FORD, I saved some big bucks !!!, The exterior & interior looks better than the other trucks, the frame and most parts are bigger than the other trucks, thats why the FORD is heavier. So far I have no regrets !!!

Yeah, honestly I like the Fords too. They ARE tougher. My piddly front end on my 2500HD isn't nearly as tough as the Ford's front end. GMs get better fuel economy and are faster because they are lighter trucks....lighter = not as strong unless it's a nasa spaceship.

Really, you can special order a cummins in a ford pickup???
Damn...if I'd have known that, I'd probably be driving one right now!! No conversion necessary, straight from the factory! Do you have anymore details? I've never heard that...I also haven't read a copy of Diesel Power mag in about 5 years.
