The auto trucks have a shorter center hump than the manuals so you will have to raise the center hump about 6" to fit the zf in. An I do believe the 6.0 zf has a higher torque rating

usually with the trannys i know for the older pickups ford had everything cut out already so a person could swap from an auto to a manual. but with the newer trucks I havn't looked too closly at them but you might want to look and see if the holes r there then that will save you a bunch of time. But yeah the hump is bigger on the manuals trannys and if I were you I would get a tranny out of a 6.0 cause the 7.3 is a different motor and I'm not too sure if they would fit up quite right

As far as wiring, your truck should already have the clutch switch plug under the dash, it's dummy plugged. You'll have to find out what color the wires are that go to the b/u lights and splice them into the b/u switch on the tranny, pretty easy. Also, do you have a manual or electric tcase? If it's electric shift there's a couple other wires from the trans wiring harness you'll need to splice to get her in 4 low. Also the clutch/brake pedal assy bolts in real easy

I have all the parts for the swap lined up. David from DI just pulled a zf6 out of a truck and is selling me the tranny, fly wheel, clutch pedal and everything else to do the swap. Also we are trading PCM's so that wont be an issue. David is also getting me a nice 550hp clutch
I will be taking pictures and documenting this swap as it progresses.
