Actually the 2011 6.7 PSD is rated to run biodiesel, 20% if I'm rememberin' right.

I wouldn't run it, I don't want my truck to smell like fries and burgers. I'd rather run waste motor oil and atf.

fuc* the govt.

Im with ya buddy 100%! The Arabs are rolling in American money laughing at us right now. But our govt doesn't have the guts to stand up for their own people who are being ripped. Not even 20 % of our oil consumption comes from the towheads tho, alot comes from Mexico and canada. So tell me who's getting rich off of this deal? The Govt most likely, and their still trillions in debt! Why can't we drill more in the US? Cuz of stupid f***ing tree huggers worried about small lizards and trees. Gas and diesel is way way too expensive. I'm not really sure who all is to blame but they need to be delt with Asap. Fuel should be no more than $1 at the pump. Now days that's a fair price with a good profit for everybody. If this keeps up I'm turning Amish.

I don't really care about the environment, my biggest fear is just we are eventually going to run out of oil. That is a really scary thought. What is everyone going to do?

We have enough oil in US ground to supply our own country for hundreds of years. And this ULSD crap is pointless.. It has zero lubrication from all the cleaning agents. And since sulfur was taken out of fuel sales for sulfur pellets for Cotten fields have gone way up. So therefor our air needs some sulfur.

People don't understand our world was built to re-new it's self, crude will be restored in time where it is taken. And the Eco system will clean the sulfur from the air. So they need to bring back high sulfur and lower the price. The economy will never get better till fuel prices drop. Fuel effects everything we buy, and with lower costs more people will travel and buy things. Our government is blind.

First off you need a really good filtration setup. A centrifugal filter is best but they're pricey. I've seen pics online of setups that just use regular spin-on filters but they have multiple ones to get to 1 micron or lower ratings. You'll need some sort of pump and something to thin the oil to make it flow better. Diesel, kerosene, and even gasoline will work for this. You shouldn't need much, depending on how much oil you have.

Like I said before, PERSONALLY speaking, I'd rather run used motor oil and used atf. If you change your own oil, then it doesn't cost you much to get your "fuel". Doesn't really matter where it comes from either, gas or diesel engines, they all have oil. If you know anyone that works at or owns a shop, maybe you can get some oil or atf from them for free or cheap at least. You just have to filter it really really good! Good luck!

Yeah my dad runs a shop, and will ATF or used motor oil make it smell like it's burning oil? I hate that smell

I've never noticed it smell like burning oil, the only person I know that did used oil only ran a couple tank fulls through his 96 7.3. I've heard ATF can be a little stinky but I know someone that runs 90-100% ATF in the summer and about 50% in the winter and I have never noticed it. The truck(01 24v Cummins) smokes more running ATF, but he's also got it tuned pretty good, so it might not smoke as bad on a stock tuned truck. I was going to try running oil through my truck but them we moved and I don't have the space to set up everything here.

Amen, Mack359. We are not running out of oil, we are just not allowed to get it out of the ground. Biodiesel is no solution.
