I just put money down on a Hiniker c-plow yesterday.

I'll let you know how it works, if we ever get snow.

they work good for doing driveways, but when the springs wear out that hold the plow up it will just flop there and bounce when you go down the road

BOSS PLOWS
Boss' new V plows check it out!: http://www.bossplow.com//powerv-xt.html
quickest hitch
quickest hydrolics
best quality by far

Western are nice, the bracket setup is pretty fugly
Meyer are nice but seem to be too light when youre pushing a pile
hiniker, curtis, snow way, all seem cheap
fisher plows are nice as well but are heavy for a straight blade on a standard plow

The plows that fold forward for a cutting edge seem dumb (not the trip system like a meyer or___). If you dont have a fume flap (rubber strip accrost the top) you havent plowed enough snow!!

just my .02

How long before that occurs?

I thought the plow was held up via hydraulics. The only springs I can think of are for the trip edge.

Am I buying a problem?

the hydraulics only push it down the springs pull it back up, they do wear out, the plow is still usable but it will bounce and flop like i said, give it about 3-5 years depending on how hard you use it
