Any straight-pipers in CO on here?
Not if you use the one I suggested.
Diesels only off Alameda was my first call, so I DID use the one you suggested..I don't know any good performance shops in the Denver area, so I wanted to get the skinny before I get down there and have to rush around to try and get my truck registered and a cat welded on. I just came out and told him my situation. He said they will look up my VIN and verify a cat exists as well as perform the opacity test.
Whole, or did you fix it for "visual" function only?

Can't you just re-install 'missing' components with the wide band clamps to pass the inspection? If so, those are great because they only take a couple of minutes to install or remove 'things' . . . .
(I can post pics if need be. . . . . )

Check at muff shops. I see piles of them laying behind them all the time. If you can't find one, let me know. I could ask if I could have one from the local shops and if so then just mail it to you.
They did not have a cat in '99. If it had a cat from the factory they are supposed to check for it. Nevertheless, I'm going to try it the first time and see what happens. I'll have one ready to install if I run into problems. I suspect many testing stations don't really follow the rules and just want to collect their fees and be done with it. But you never know...
Ditto. I have a straight pipe from the turbo back and have been approved many years in a row. I've even been approved with only the downpipe!
