just plug in and be happy man........they draw some pretty good amps somI got me a heavy duty timer and have mine come on 3 hours b4 work when I need the truck

 

Will it hurt the truck to stay pluggd in over nite>?

 

i usually leave mine plugged in all night, it takes about 4 hrs on avg. to fully heat the thing up i have heard so its all good, don't see much in bill increase either

 

When I plug mine in usually plug it in about 10 or so before bed and then 6 when i get ready to start it for work. I am thinking of getting a timer to come on 3-4hrs before i need to start it no need in using 4-5 hours of electricity but it wont hurt anything either to plug it in overnight though.

 

Good deal, maybe it will warm up a little faster than the normal 6-10 miles it takes on the ride to work!

 

it will, nice to have luke warm heat right away...and it makes it a lot easier on the motor

Over here in Montana, yes.

BTW, I left mine plugged in for 5 days straight and I had no issues. It's better to leave em plugged in for 8 hours than 4 hours. Everything is toasty that way.

 

i plug mine in at night...then it sits for 10-12 hrs at work unplugged and will start no issue...the newer duramaxs have a good glow plug system, just run some additive in it and keep a good fuel filter (and put good winter blend diesel in) and really you should be fine
