when he asked me about fuel, he gave me the option of havin him sample it there on the side of highway 71 or having it sampled at a police department the next day by court order...i figured he wasnt smart with diesels so i let him and sure enough he knew his way around diesels pretty good and drianed my fuel filter...i spent about two hours on the side of the highway waiting for a fuel truck with diesel for me to fill up with after they drained my tank and wrote me a big a$$ ticket

Yeah that sucks I know here they are doing a big crackdown on guys like us. We got pulled over and the DOT guy told us we need to have DOT numbers on our trucks now and up our registration to minimum of 15 ton tags and also said they are going to start leaving semi drivers alone and go after us guys with diesel trucks pulling trailers. He let us go with a warning but said the fine would have been in excess of $12,000 for the stuff he told us about.

This crackdown on weight and our trucks has been comin for a while, posted a warning about it way back here. https://www.dieselbombers.com/towing...u-pullers.html

Sorry to hear ya got hit so hard but I hope this thread stays active so all these guys that think they're gonna save a buck and outsmart all the law enforcement out there might finally see the results. Been many a argument through the years about off road fuel usage, DOT numbers and plates.

Sorry about your wallet but....

What did you thnk was gonna happen? Diesel trucks are "main stream" now... DOT is watching us. As they should, I'm glad to see they are gonna start cracking down on weights. i wish they would crack down on tie downs for loads around here.
