I have recently, within the last 8 months, had bot batteries replaced, new cables and connectors and a new alternator but if I don't run my truck every other day, I can't start it up. Batteries both check out and the alternator runs between 14.2 and 14.6. Any ideas what it might be? I just pray it's not the ECM.

Also, I replaced the instrument cluster because my fuel guage malfunctioned. After installing the replacement, I held down the trip counter reset button, turned the key to the ON position and waited for all the guages to finish their twitching and to read the codes. I got A4 38 and A8 00. I understand the VIN thingy with the A8 code but do I need to have someone resolve it for me or is it good tor run as-is? I can't find A4 38 on any code lists I've found GOOGLING. Does anyone have an answer as to what they mean? Could they represent the issue I'm having with my charging system?
