What if i do this EGR Delete
If I go ahead and delete the Egr system do I still need to look at replacing the oil cooler (thaty is with the new updated Ford cooler or total replacement IE: Bullet Proof remote cooler design)
If I am already into the top end should I go ahead and relocate the oil cooler and if so what are my options other the the Bullet Proof system?
Almost forgot to list what truck ( 03 powerstroke 6.0 )100k on the origional motor
Thanks for the input

It's not a bad idea to replace the cooler if you have a lot of miles on the original. If you have the money for the bulletproof oil cooler relocate, go for it, if not a new stock one, a full EGR delete setup, and a coolant filter should do the trick!
Where is your location? Emissions testings in various states may prohibit you doing the full egr delete, but you can always use the bulletproof egr cooler too.

The oil cooler is a must when in there I removed mine showing no signs of failure, when I had it on the bench I blocked off the outlet and blew into the inlet and I could barely gat any air to pass threw the cooler when I cut it open you would not believe the build up of sludge! Some say it is the casting sand used when casting the block, I really dont know but I do know if I had been usin my truck for any real work or agressive play my oil temps would have gone up quickly! The remote set up looks pretty slick, but very expensive! IMHO not the best idea as it dont cool if you aint movin air threw it! I think the intrest in this type of cooling design is the easy access to the parts if they ever needed to be changed not the better cooling capacity! The OEM design uses the cooling system to keep er cool, just install a coolant filter system after a good flushx2! The EGR delete is a pretty good idea on the newer 6.0s but in 03 they still had a really good oil cooler(the round type)the newer ones 05 or 06 I think they changed to a square looking unit that was prone to failure. On the 03s the actual valve gunks up with black sooty stuff that causes a world of performance and drivability issues, regular cleaning is a good thing to consider! If you decide to go with the delete you will not need to go with a custom tune to shut off the EGR function as the removal will not set a DTC resulting in the SES lamp to illuminate. And dont look for any real performance improvments with the delete it just isint that much of a power robber! Best results for better all around performance is a good tune typically 3 tp 4 hundred dollars and some will add as much as 150 RWHP, perhaps more? So IMHO oil cooler replace OEM,coolant filter,a good tune and add a oil catch system to the crank case vent to keep the unwanted oil out of your CAC tubing and air cooler. Best of luck with whatever you decide. Cheers!! Sorry in advance for any spelling or grammar errors!!
