Default 2004 6.0 brake problem

was out wheeling my truck the other night and after driving today my brake pedal felt really weird and soft, i would have to pin it to the floor to get the truck to do anything. havent had time to check the brake fluid. i'm a broke college student in maine and i need to drive home to new jersey at the end of the week so a quick cheap fix would be great and the rest of my tools are in new jersey. any ideas or what to look for would be extremely helpful thanks!!

update, there was no brake fluid in reservoir and lines seem dry. going to put fluid in reservoir and see if there is a leak anywhere. would pumping the brakes make fluid **** out or would it drip out slowly if there was a leak somewhere?
