Default taking off in second gear
2002 7.3 crewcab long bed lariat superduty powerstroke. I have switched transmissions and still taking off in second gear. what could be the issue?

Is the linkage set right? Do the rest of the gear selections work as they should, as in when the selector is on the R, it's in reverse? How did this start? More info please...

I braught the truck in this condition 2 years ago. the linkage seems to be working fine. I was toldd it was my transmission wiring harness
