Default 2000 7.3 just stopped running

I have a 2000 7.3 turbo diesel that sat for about a month and then drove it about a mile and it shut down. Towed it back and all it will do is crank over fine but doesn't start. No Check engine light or codes. When cranking over all gauges go to normal but then the gas gauge starts at full and bounces down to zero. Topped off the fuel tank so it is full of diesel. Fuel pump is pumping and we did change the fuel filter. Also changed the CPS sensor. Any ideas?

drain and check the fuel tank sometimes trash will build up in the bottom of the tank and clod the fuel line ive seen this happen before sounds like fuel not getting to the motor but give it a shot it might be the fix to your problem

How low was the fuel tank when it died? I have seen a lot of these, even my own truck, get to where they would aeriate the fuel at a quarter of tank of fuel. then you would need to fill it with fuel like you did but now you will need to get fuel to the injectors which can take a while if you are just cranking it. I would cycle the key several times, this meean turn it on for about 45 seconds then back off and then back on for another 45 seconds. I would cycle it 3 times and check for good fuel at the filter by using the water drain. if you now have good fuel try to start it. If this does not work I would check the upper oil resevoir and make sure it is no more than 1 inch from the top. It needs this oil to make the injectors work.

Tank was about 3/4 full and we topped it off to be sure. We cracked the fuel filter cap and cranked the engine. Fuel was pumping out. Then we changed the fuel filter and cps sensor. Still won't start.
