Had scan run and no codes, it is all stock and no chip. Not even 2000 miles on oil change.

Has to be electrical getting hot. Id take a guess that the IDM is shorting but yet still functional till it runs long enough to get hot(IDM hot). Does RPM matter? If it shuts down in 2 min if you hold it at 2500 as opposed to 5 min at idle that also says something. IPR coil could be acting up too but that should throw a code

Default SHUTS DOWN ALSO

I have a 2000 7.3 turbo diesel that sat for about a month and then drove it about a mile and it shut down. Towed it back and all it will do is crank over fine but doesn't start. No Check engine light or codes. When cranking over all gauges go to normal but then the gas gauge starts at full and bounces down to zero. Topped off the fuel tank so it is fuel of diesel. Fuel pump is pumping and we did change the fuel filter. Also changed the CPS sensor. Any ideas?

Default I had the same problem with my 99 f250

I had a 99 F250 powerstroke and it would go down the road and just die. I could get it started after awhile, then die again. It happen to be a $800 cam sensor, a common problem with the 7.3 powerstroke. let me know if this helps
