NOTE: The exhaust backpressure device during its normal function will change the sound of the engine,
in cold ambient conditions. Some vehicle operators may not understand the function of the device. Refer to
cold weather operation in the Owner's Guide Supplement to the Owner's Manual. Refer to SSM 16697.

well i thought its was suppose to help warm up but i cant find it in the manual, that short quote kinda shows what im sayin though in cwo it says so it implies it has something to do with cold starts

It would be nice to confirm if this sensor actually affects the mapping besides when cold or at idle. As of right now, my lever arm came apart on my EBPV so it's rigged open with a spring and doing jack for my truck.

i tested it this morning. about 10 gegrees at 5:30 am. idling at 1100 RPM, EGT's were at 300. close the EBPV, EGT's went to 350. it doesn't make a big difference.

yes i do. i do like it but some times it seems like it doesn't close as far as other times. that and i have a broken bolt on the manifold off the #8 cylinder so it lets alot of the pressure out. now if i was thinkin about it, i would have fixed it when i had the tranny out today
