k so what i can figure out if im right the valve closes for the starting of the engine now the sensor tells the valve too open or close (no pressure close, pressure open) with it closed decreases start time AND makes warm up little bit shorter by loading engine increasing temp so when engine hits o/t it will open valve up according too (on that one i think coolant) or cts so the pcm i think controls valve by feedback of both cts and ebps HOWEVER if the cts says its good then itll cause it to open because ur at o/t BUT if the epbs is registering no pressure because we all have diesel and most are BOMBED then they soot more and of course ebps is in exaust therefor gets clogged needing cleaning i.e. the whole reason this post exists then the sensor closes valve thinkin its trying too start still sooooo im thinkin its just loading trying to get the engine started.... therefore its reducing power and thus the decrease in economy trying too overcome the valve... Thoughts questions comments??? what do yall think?

well by having it on for braking purposes it it does what? its loading down adding pressure too the exaust soooo if its on during warm up and ur loading the motor THEN inturn ur increasing your egts increasing your motor till u hit O/T then it opens back up... yea im think thatd work....

well with is closed at higher RPM's, say 2800 - 1300. it closes off most of the exhaust flow and holds it in the engine as back pressure thus slowing the engine much faster than just coasting. but at a idle it really doesn't hold back enough IMO. at a idle, my EGT's stay the same with is open or closed.

but our trucks when they are cold during the warm up (if cold outside anyways) dont it go couple of hundred rpms just on real cold starts? i seem too remember reading that somewhere i think it might have been that online for manual on here.... thats gonna bug the **** outta me ima go look quick
