ts chip for an 01 vs 99 the same chip???

Default ts chip for an 01 vs 99 the same chip???

in other words, my chip is for my 01 7.3 with an automatic, and my buddies truck is a 99 with an auto and wondering if i need to get the chip reburnt or its the same???

It will need a reburn unless he has the same PCM code...

If his is a late 99 it will work fine. If his is an early 99 it may work with a few minor issues.

I am running NMM tuning on my PMT pcm. It does not have to be from the same PCM code, just the same PCM family.

so how do i tell if his pcm is from the same 'family'??? i doubt he knows if his truck is a late 99 or not.

You would have to pull the PCM to find out for sure...

Its easy to find out if its a E vs L 99...

Look at the intake Y... If it has a intake air heater its a late 99... If not, its an early.

If it has two relays in the valley its a late, if not its an early.
