Default Reman engine?? I'm kind of lost.

Okay guys I have an early '99 model year. I was cleaning off the valve covers to see the emission tag on it just curious what the factory said it puts out and instead of the tag I found a sticker that said something like NAVISTAR REMANUFACTURE. So I am confident the engine isn't the original.
Now, how can I tell if it is a e99 engine or not? Any help would really be appreciated.

If it has an intake air heater then its a late 99...

Really doesnt matter, the motors are the same from 95 to 2003, with just a few minor changes that dont ammount to a hill of beans.

All powerstrokes have glow plugs, the late 99's they added an intake air heater for extended idle periods to help stop white smoke.

It has nothing to do with cold starts.

The only thing I would worry about with your motor is if it has Forged Rods or not. Other then that a 7.3 is a 7.3 when it comes to mods.
