First you need to move it... Just saying, its doing you no good there...

As far as a shut down temp, 350 or so is more then fine... Keep in mind there are a million + trucks out there and 95% of them do not have a pyro at all, get run hard and shut off the second they pull up to the house.

I wait until 400 most times, but if I am just tooling around town and have not been running it hard I will not even look at the pyro.

Yeah I know, havent had a chance to move it yet, got it that way. It is supposed to be on the manifold right, where, is there already a port somewhere? There may be a million+ that do that crap but that dont make it right, dont know what the truck got before me but I havent shut it down hotter than 375 yet. I also live in a quiet neighborhood so it has plenty of time to cool down before I make it back to my house. Was just wondering because it cools to 400 pretty quick but much below that takes a few min.

Most of your shut down talk is from old wifes tales... Newer oils do not coke the way old ones did. Anywhere below 350-400* and your fine. Like I said before there are MILLIONS of these trucks and motors out there with no Pyros that get used hard, pull up to the 7-11 and shut off.

Most times I allow my truck to "settle" down and then I turn it off, EGT's are about 350-400* at that point.

Mine will sit around *260 after startup and it's warm. My pyro is in the exhaust manifold. It takes 2-4 minutes from 340 down to 300, but it'll do it. When I worked on the larger engines (Colt-Pielstick, Paxman, ect.), we always idled to *250 before shutdown. That old habit is part of the reason I do it now.
