am i readin that right that it will only let my boost go to 22? or is that just what itll read but itll keep going up?
It will only let the PCM see 22#'s boost, meaning your truck will not set the overboost code and your PCM will not defuel the truck.

Is your wastegate unplugged?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

for the ats ported shroud compressor housing, would that be a long term fix? like could i still use it if i upgraded my exhaust?

The compressor housing goes on the intake side of your turbo... It does not care what exhaust you have on your truck.

it is not a performance upgrade, it is a surge cure... Just keep that in mind.

Default boost help?!

If u want performance and take care of the surge get a Garrett 38R ball baring turbo. I think it's the cheapest drop in performance replacement turbo for these trucks. I have one it's never surged while driving.

Remember that you have two choices for the ported housing, either ATS or the USA.

Not necessarily true... I had surge issues BAD for years with my 38R... My bitching is one of the reasons they redesigned it about 2 years ago.

Well mine has never surged except when power breaked and let off the gas really quick. So im pretty sure mine is a newer one I think it's less then 2 years old.

An H2e would be a good match as well.... Just depends on your budget. Have you looked into the OCR route to see if that will do it?
