drove 2001 F250 on a 200 mile trip and trans started leaking on the last mile of the trip now i refilled trans and it does not leak at all, it is hard to say where it was leaking due to the fact that the whole trans was covered in oil, i know its not the cooler lines....any ideas?

 

Front seal... Got a tranny gauge on it? Bet it got real hot...

When they get hot they start to leak out the front seal, once they cool down they stop. At some point the front seal will go out and it will not stop leaking.

 

When my Dad's 01 V10 starts getting hot pulling up a hill or something, it starts spitting fluid out some weep hole in the tranny. Could be coming from there.

 

Thats where its coming from, the front seal, then down and out the weep hole...

Funny, the first time I blew my truck up I pulled it back from The Dalles Oregon to Bend with a V-10 and thats the first time I experanced this issue... Spit all but 4qts out before I got to madras to put more in.


Next morning it would not move... put 12 qts in it and its still on the road to this day...LOL
