in high school i drove an 84 ranger with a 2.2L perkins diesel and a 4 speed manual. when i graduated i started looking for a new truck. i wanted a manual so bad i could taste it, but finacial reasons made me settle with the an auto, i hate this worthless hunk of S**T!!!!! it shifts hard, its going out, i cant shift when i want to, it likes to down shift whenever it F**KING feels like it. its slipping. oh yeah, and to repace it with a tranny that will handle what i want to do to it is $4500 for the tranny alone, not the installation or shipping included. if i could buy a truck all over agian, id go manual in the blink of an eye an fork out the extra cash for the tranny truck i wanted. after this catastophy ill never buy another automatic. thats my .02 cents on automatic trannys
