Looking at a 2001 F350 7.3 Powerstroke 4x4 6 speed XL Pto winch old power truck, utilty bed, looks in good shape, 270,000 miles. Trucks yellow. Truck has valair clutch and has a pcm flash(tow/street tune) from jody at dp tuner and is a no a/c truck. What you guy's think?

I would probley either take bed off and build flat bed/paint front clip/cab and paint flatbed black or paint truck with utilty bed.

If its been taken care of and the price is right, pick it up... Keep in mind its got 270k miles so don't expect a new truck.

What are your goals for the truck? Are you buying just to drive or buying to build?

trade. Its be my DD/tow rig. Id either keep the utilty bed and paint the truck and start modifing or flat bed it and paint the truck and start modifing.

With that many miles, It would be in your best interest to get a compression test on the motor. Check that truck over really good. Make sure its been maintained well. If it's been maintained, it could be a good deal.

270k, power truck, tuned, No gauges...

270k- High, but not extream miles

power truck- LOTS of idle time, LOTS of different drivers, Lack of proper warm up, Lack of care from different drivers.

Tuned- Never good on a fleet truck

No gauges- Not a chance I would touch a truck that is tuned, with no gauges.

Compression test, leak down test, full run up before I would even think twice.

Also, keep in mind where you live and no AC.

They probably have an ac kit but ac kits or even just replacement compressors cost a pretty penny.
But if ur already wanting to paint it and put an ac which will be a good bit of money just wait and spend more on more of what u want! Cuz if u don't u will regret it later!!!

I would not touch that truck.

Maybe for a ranch truck, but not for a DD... You will be throwing parts at it every day...

If I was wanting to go through the motor and build a toy I would, but for a DD, no way!
