i have a friend with a 7.3 and was wondering about the ATS housing and the Garrett housing is the 1.00 A/R housing pretty much the same as the the ATS one? just cheaper and Garrett brand?

 

The ATS housing is a ported compressor housing, the Garrett 1.00 housing is on the exhaust side.

Garrett 1.00 exhaust housing will help with surge, lower EGT's and give you a bit more top end. You may notice a bit more lag at low RPM's but its a good mod.

The ATS housing is the cure all for surge. It does nothing one way or the other for performance.

WW is a bandaid... It helps with surge, but moves less air then the stock wheel...

The ATS housing cures surge. But its $400 bucks!
