Blowing fuel out the filter bowl. I just changed the filter and now it leaks. the gasket is on correctly but fuel still comes out. how tight are you supposed to tighten it?

Supposed to be pretty snug. I had a similar issue last filter and found the gasket in the box to be trash, I took the nice snug fitting one of the old filter and reused it and it fixed it right up. The one that was in the box was loose and it fell off the filters threads when I went to install it, the old gasket was tight to the threads and sat nice even when upside down to be be installed. I think the old filter was a napa unit, the new one I want to say was a purolator or a motorcraft, I think purolator cause I think ford wouldn't of done something as stupid as that crappy gasket.
