That guy is the absolute laughing stock of the powerstroke community. About 3/4 of what comes out of his mouth is complete BS, and the other is right out of the text book.

There is zero (0) reason to change the HPO in the res, every time the truck is running it is completely drained and refilled with fresh, filtered and cooled oil... EVERY 5-30 seconds...

Complete waste of time. PERIOD.

 

which guy are you talking about? the guy in the article I posted or the one in the link?

 

Go to BG oil products they are way better then amsoil and schaeffer. Go on their website and read about their synthetic oil, its pretty pricey but has a lot of research behind it.

 

Can't tell the difference. Both are excellent.

I fully disagree with you CSIPD! Granted his ways are different and Possibly time consuming. But what proof do you have that he is wrong? He is the only guy out there that has put up any video info on PowerStrokes. is this your opinion. if it were True B.S he would have been sued for false info and the cite would be closed. He has a degree, certified Ford Tech, ASE Certified and has field knowledge. so help me to understand? I was only trying to help. You seem negative towards my posts rather then helpful?
Just to let you know. I have done the same HPOP procedure my self on many 7.3l powerstrokes. and they have never had the procedure done to them. I saw the same thick black used oil that he has showed. My own power-stoke is done regularly. the oil looks much improved. I have seen on my own truck one of the injector codes cleared and has yet to return. Have you tried this? It sounds like to me IMO allot of shops will not do his procedures because it adds time, and labor. so they discredit somebody for thinking of something. that they don't wan't to do. (or maybe HE gave secrets to the public that shop owners want kept a secret?)

I always have used dinosaur oil & never have had a problem, but I change the oil on my 1999 7.3 between 3,000 to 4,000 miles

 

I am going to take some pics of the HPOP reservior since mine is off to explain why a cleanout ever 50 to 100000 is not a bad idea this thing is a sump oil fills from the top and sludge and trash can build up inside it once inside it if it is heavier than oil it falls into this sump and cannot get back out I'll take pics to illustrate but changing the oil every time no way waste of time!

I would like to see some of the people who call Bill Hewitt names do it to his face ....

hey guys me again, likin' the look of schaffers 7000 enjoy all the input, and almost forgot to ask, i'ma Napa gold guy when it comes to oil filters, think the'yre made by WIX, thought about converting to Fleetguard heard good things about them, and thats not taking anything away from Napa gold, the diesel ones have always held up. But are all the fleetguards made equally, or do I gotta pay a bajillion dollars for some premo grade filter, the one I was looking at I think are like in the 12 to 15 dollar range. thanks again for all the input.
