I run regular old 15/40 chevron oil. Cant beat the price and its been working for along *** time in farm fields and construction sites everywhere. So its good enough for me at 3k to 5k oil changes. And I know i have a dodge but. I tell my powerstroke guys to do 3k oil changes to keep fresher oil running through the injection system. I think its easier on the pump and the injectors but that's just my opinion. Especially since injectors and all the hpop stuff cost a lot of money

just keep it simple, & change your oil every 3K to 4K in these 7.3 PSD

think of it this way, 60 bucks every 3 to 5k, which for average is what like every other month maybe? i still think its worth the 60 or so bucks to change your oil instead of the 10 grand it will be for a new motor? thats just me though...

I won't go to 5,000 miles on a 7.3, BUT I change my oil on the 2008 6.4 PSD every 5,000 miles.

but he doesn't have his own YouTube channel or give great tips like "you can tell if a powerstroke has been taken care of if all the valve caps are on the tires" like Bill Hewitt so I completely disregard anything he say regardless of fact.

Now! I will call B.S on this! Both Bill and Charles has been at the business for a long time! they know their info. Some of there info put side by side would seem like B.S If you take away their opinions on certain subjects. Charles has more factual info. Bill was smart to document his facts. However his opinions have actually created an unfavorable liking to some of the other shops. I applaud both Bill and Charles for at least doing something! They have at-least made it so that people would be better understanding of the power-plants. How many sites have Cummins tutorials, or Duramax how to videos? Most don't because they don't want other shops calling their Findings and opinions as B.S these Two have seen it. I have had conversations with both and have nothing BUT GOOD to say about them. information is just as cutthroat as selling Parts! you miss one word or a procedure. You get laughed at or berated just so the other shop, or know it all can sound important. In this economy it makes it worse, Shops and internet drop-shipping sites are fighting for pennies. Or to have top honors for having the most business. Enough said I opened a can, so I must stop before it gets worse!

I agree it's getting extremely cutthroat due to the economy I have had one shop call 4 other shops no good son of a bitches in one phone call except I had gotten good info and parts from the people they called no good.....be careful people who make their livings selling aftermarket parts and service for these trucks are hurting and some will say almost anything about others to steer your buissness towards their wallets !

just a word of caution be careful.....sometimes I think in the beginning I would have been better off to take my truck to ford and just say fix it ...the tranny would have been warrantied to 100 k or something for 3500.00 ........

Then I hear alot of people say they are on their 3rd reman and that stopped that ...

same gooes for my power and mileage issues my ip pipes would have cost 1500 to 2000 at ford I did em i a weekend for 500.00

the list goes on ....this low ICP issue scares me to think what they would have charged to throw parts at it
