Default Turbo specs

I have a 2001 F250 7.3l and I have been looking to find the temperature specs for the turbo fins for how hot they can get...safely because when i haul stuff it gets up there and i usually let off at 1300 but it would be nice to know how hot it can actually get before i have to worry

The turbo can handle temps well above 2000*...

You are NOT watching EGT's to protect the turbo, you are watching them to protect the aluminum pistons that are in your motor...

IH says 1250* sustained is the red line. You can go over that for short periods of time, but that is the red line.

so for say a drag race if it goes over that should be fine
