Those ladder bars look good and all, but doesn't that pivot point on the front allow axle wrap? It seems to me they would move fore and aft, similar to the direction of leaf spring wrap.

I've seen this design before and still don't get how it's suppose to work.

When the axle wraps the force applied to the front end mount of the ladder bar is straight up and not forward or backwards. So is the shackle is mounted correctly the pivot points do not move during axle wrap.

However the shackle mounts do still allow suspension articulation.

Pulled in the 8500lb Pro Street Diesel class. There was 5 trucks in it including me and 3 of them were 800-900hp dynoed Cummins from another local performance shop and the other was an OBS Stroker that was just chipped and had no chance and just hooked for the fun of it.

I was around 60 feet back from the Cummins as they all pulled in the 305-310foot range.

My truck weighed in at 7550 lbs so I was still 950 lbs lighter then all the Cummins. As u can see in the video the truck was really slow to spool off the line. I usually take off in 2nd gear and then lock the convertor but from the looks of it I am going to have to drop to 1st to start out just to get the turbos to spool with the changes we made. The turbos never lit until about the 50ft mark last night.

Going to try and pickup some more weight this week and see how it does next weekend. I am also thinking about re-gearing but I am going to make one change at a time and start with the weight.

Even though I was way back from the Cummins I was very pleased overall for the first time out this year since it actually did not break. And of cousre the truck got a ton of attention and we handed out a ton of business cards and got a couple people that made appointments.

For me the advertising factor is far more valuable then the competion or winning anything. I know better then to think I am going to compete with those Cummins as I do not have the funds it takes to do so. I would rather just go make a good show with what I have and try to gain business. Then maybe some day I can afford to play with those Cummins.

After the pulls we went to McDonalds to eat. It turned into a big DPP get together in the parking lot. We all got to talking and figured out I probably had a first in the pulling world last night. The sled is Cummins powered so not only was I pushing a Cummins on the front of my Stroke but I was pulling one behind it at the same time.
