Default How do I tell if my truck can have PTO?

I want to put PTO on my truck but how can I tell if it is PTO ready?

Should be a port on the side of the tranny... IIRC its on the passanger side...

WHat kind of port, just a plate thats bolted on to the side?

Yup, its a 3-4" by 4-6" port with 4 bolts on it. I have only seen one in my time...

I have one that size on my driver side with 6 bolts in it what is that?

I don't think you can get a powerstroke truck that isn't PTO capable

PTO stands for power take off. its like what a tractor uses on the rear end to power hay grinders and other goodies. on trucks if i am correct it is used to power hydrullic systems which will in turn power air compressors and other goodies.

that should be it. take a picture and post it? im about 98% positive thats the pto port.. ive seen a few in my time.
