Default Head gaskets?

Could it be?
I have combustion gasses in my cooling system, my radiator cap allowed coolant passed and covered my engine. any tricks or tips when replacing head gaskets on a 01 7.3 turbo.
Any ideas what else it could be, EGR, or is that only on the 6.0. thank ypu for any advice or parts info. Should i install oem gaskets? Are there better aftermarket gaskets? Thanks guys

Whoooooooo

Slow down.

7.3's with stock injectors rarely pop head gaskets... almost NEVER.

First thing I would do is check for fuel in your coolant, I would bet its a injector cup rather then anything else.

Compression check would be your first step.

No sorry needed... Just dont want you to start replacing parts you dont need to...

An injector cup is pressed into the heads at each injector location. You use a bit of locktite to hold them and they seal the coolant from the injector and the cylinder... I dont have a cutaway picture for ya...
