Default 2000 7.3 fuel pressure?

Where is the best place to check fuel pump on a 2000 7.3? What should the pressure be right after stock pump?

Fuel pressure on a Superduty should be between 55-70 at the Fuel bowl. OBS trucks can run slightly less due to the mechanical pump.

Keep in mind that an underhood gauge will be of limited use. It will not diagnose a bad pump as you could also have a problem with a cracked or worn seat on the Fuel Bowl Relief valve.

Even with good fuel pressure at an idle while sitting in your driveway, it could be totally different when pulling a trailer up a grade.

An in cab electronic fuel gauge is the only way you will be able to determine if you fuel delivery system is performing properly under various load conditions.

100% correct... Its a good cheap starting test but will not tell you everything!

I can drop my fuel pressure from 65 to 20psi on a WOT run right now with a factory pump that is slowly failing...

I have a FASS pump. Just got 160/80's installed. was told to set pressure at 65psi.
Fass pump only goes to 55psi, I called fass they said to shim the return line to achieve 70psi pump return then set the fuel supply regulator to 65. problems I have been having are lopey idle
lots of black smoke and high egts'

do you think this could be the culprit?

Did you get your chip reburned after you installed the injectors?
