Default Fuel pressure gauge!

Well, I'm almost through with my gauge installs. In the process, I decided to install one more gauge pod instead of using A homemade box I constructed. Now I have an extra hole to fill. LOL. So, I thought FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE!. So hear is the question. Where on my 02, 7.3 can I tap into to get A fuel pressure reading and How many pounds pressure am I looking at? Also, is there A difference between A gas fuel pressure gauge and A Diesel fuel pressure gauge? I'm using Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra Light gauges. Sam.

Are you using an electric or mechanical guage? You will need a 100 psi guage and should read about 58-60 psi at idle. You can hook into the back of the filter housing, I'll try to find a pic to show you.

Here you go, you'll need the adapter fitting, you can get it from ITP Diesel about $6.

Not sure yet. A mechanical gauge is lot cheeper but you have to buy the lines and fittings the gauges are about 50 or 60 bucks. The electrical gauges are about $212.00.

At any rate - if you plan on running a mechanical gauge, you need to run an isolator gauge or run an electric gauge to keep fuel out of the cab.

If you want to not use the isolator or a mechanical gauge, mount the gauge on the cowl outside the truck, would be in your best interest to keep the fuel OUT of the passenger compartment, for at the very least, insurance standpoint in the case of a fire or accident.

Just my .02

Post up some pics of your install!
