I would bet the exhaust backpressure valve is closed cause its cold when you start it. Is there a hissing noise in the exhaust after you started it? Wait a few minutes then go listen by the pipe. Does it high idle after it sits for a few minutes as well?

As he said... Its your Exhaust Back Pressure Valve (EBPV) closing to build back pressure and help warm the motor... Not to mention they really will have no power until the oil is warming up. You have to remember, the motor oil is used to fire our injectors, with cold oil comes retarded timing...

BTW, Welcome to the site!!!
