i have a 2002 f350 and when i run the truck for a while and it gets warm it will surge so bad the truck will shut off this only happens in park or nutral if i leave the truck in drive and set the emergency brake when i get out for a min it will run fine and not cut off

any suggestion i have a new hpop ipr valve icp sensor and nothing has touched it also if you press the break really hard the truck will cut off im lost and cant figure it out

I just installed a gooseneck hitch and when i towed with it this weekend the truck didnt seem to have any power could this have something to do with the surge any help would be great

 

hey buddy you've got this in the wrong forum but a mod should move it for you. Have you checked basics like fuel filter?

sorry im still trying to learn the site ive read a ton of post on here and got alot of good info so i decided to join seems to be a bunch of guys that know alot about diesels on here and this being my first diesel its good to have people who know what there doing help out

ive change the fuel filter but i havent checked the fuel pressure the pump on the frame seems to be working well might need to check that next

 

idk that it is surging at an idle. is it idling really ruff, almost knocking? why was the ipr,icp, and hpop replaced?? you could have one of several issuse.
hpo problem, injector problem or electrical problem
can you hook up any kinda of code reader and see what you have for codes. also we need to see you icp psi and duty cycle %
